Family Package Holidays in Orlando Nov 30
There are so many different things that you could do when you are in the Orlando area. If you are coming to visit then make sure that you bring the family because you will give them the vacation of a lifetime. Many people are looking for more than just a simple vacation when they go away, especially if it is someplace that offers as much as Orlando. When you are planning your trip make sure that you are looking at the family package holidays in Orlando and all of the great bargains that you can find. Here is how you go about finding them

Many times I start my search on one of the travel websites online, either Travelocity or Expedia. I try to do as much searching as I can to find out how much each of the different parts of the vacation will cost. For example, I check on flights and record the price, then I check on rental car prices and finally hotel prices. Once I have all of this information recorded I start looking for a family package holidays in Orlando that offers the same thing but at a bundled price. Often I will find that I am getting one aspect of the vacation for free, or perhaps paying the same price but getting more perks. Either way it is hard to beat the deals that you can find by bundling your vacation together into one package.

So the next time you are coming to central Florida, make sure that you look for the family package holidays in Orlando and all of the different prices that they have to offer. You will no doubt be happy with the savings that you can get, and that will give you the opportunity to spend it on things that are a lot more fun than a hotel room.

Teacher Appreciation Ideas Nov 27
As the years go by, it seems to become more and common for parents to be expected to give gifts to their children’s teachers at school. There’s a fine line between showing appreciation and going broke. Finding just the right gift — at just the right price — can be challenging at best. And besides, how many apple-decorated key chains or coffee mugs can one teacher use?

Gina Dalquest (mother of four school-age children) says, “Every teacher appreciates school supplies. Often teachers spend a lot of their own money stocking their classrooms. Pencils, paper, whatever I can get inexpensively or in volume. I bought a big cube of construction paper and sent half to my son’s class. Last year, we made decorated glass ball ornaments by pouring several colors of acrylic paint into them and swirling the balls around to look marbled. It cost less than $2 per gift.”

During the winter holiday season, teachers can be so busy with school-related holiday preparations that they don’t have time or energy for all the necessary preparations at home. Homebaked cookies, etc., can be very helpful in this regard.

The following are suggestions for helpful and often inexpensive teacher appreciation gifts for the holidays or the end of the school year:

Shoe-box sized plastic storage box full of school and classroom supplies that you can stock up on throughout the year at sales, clearance stores, etc.

Bag of popcorn and a flavored salt sampler.

Gift certificate for a video rental.

Homemade fudge in take-out meal containers (or Biscotti or gingerbread men).

Pencils printed with their names on them.

Painted glass ball ornaments.

Flavored coffee or tea mixes.

Coffee and cup decorated by your child.

A candle and candleholder.

Anything for the classroom: games, writing equipment, books, rulers, things to decorate or theme objects.

Handmade items from the students (potholder, pencil holder, etc).

Movie theater passes.

Small basket of lotions or soaps.

Letter or card from the student (and/or parent) telling what they enjoyed about the year or the teacher’s input into the child’s life.

Small plant potted in a thrift store coffee mug or tea cup.

Child-made apple-shaped something or other (although over the years many teachers end up with more apple decorations than they have room for in their house).

Baked goods (bread, cookies, candies, quick breads, etc.).

Chocolate dipped pretzels.

Chocolate anything.

Christmas ornament.

One woman online writes, “There are too many people who get left out and probably feel bad about it, such as the P.E. teacher, the principal, the secretary, the kitchen lady who knows your child by name, the teacher’s aide who listens to them say their numbers or helps with reading, etc. And then there’s the Awana leader, the Girl/Boy Scout leader, the Sunday School teacher, and the private teachers like piano and dance. A parent can’t possibly buy/make gifts for all these people.”

Her unique suggestion to deal with this large number of potential gift recipients? Donate a book to the school or the public library “in the names of all the people who have been part of your child’s life this year. Then give a card to each individual telling them why they were so important to your child and how this gift will help other children as much as he/she helped your child.”

It’s been my experience that people in volunteer helping positions (such as Sunday School teachers or nursery workers at church) are often completely overlooked when it comes time to give out thanks. Each year my husband and I try to invite our children’s Sunday School teachers and their families to dinner at our house to thank them for all their hard work and dedication throughout the year. It’s never ceased to amaze me that I always hear comments like, “No one has ever done anything like this for me before and I’ve been teaching Sunday School for twelve years.” Even just a simple Thank You card given at the holidays or the end of the school term could be enough to bowl them over in shock.

Remember, this isn’t a competition to see which child or parent gives the teacher the best or most expensive gift. Showing appreciation to assorted teachers should be an expression of heart-felt thanks to the dedicated people who have touched our lives and given of themselves to our children.

Finding Cheap 100 Dollar Flights Nov 27
It is always good to take a vacation. But the cost of plane tickets won’t make you smile. But don’t worry, airfare doesn’t have to be expensive; there are many ways that you can find airplane tickets for under a hundred dollars.

If you really want to find that cheap 100 dollar flight, you are going to need to do some research. You can start online, using the search engines. Many discounted airfares are now available online.

You can chose to use some travel agencies or travel agents.Travel agents might seem to have a reasonable rate, but they are out to make money, so obviously it could be cheaper.

The time of year you travel can also impact whether or not you find cheap flights. Certain weeks are considered very popular and therefore ticket prices can increase. The end of December, March, July and August are some of the periods in question. More families travel during school holidays, and during that time ticket prices are going up.

Cheap tickets often come with penalties for cancellations or changes. Therefore it is important to make firm travel plans and adhere to your itinerary in mind.

But don’t lose hope, there are ways to find cheap 100 dollar flight tickets. Once you find a flight that fits your preference and budget you simply purchase a ticket. Most of cheap airplane tickets are now e-tickets or electronic tickets. This simply means that you don’t receive a hard copy of your cheap airplane ticket, instead when you check-in with the airline they will issue you your boarding pass.

Travel Agents and Why You Need One Nov 27
Agents are still a vital part of the industry. Since the internet has revolutionized the industry many people have taken to making their own arrangements. An agent still provides valuable time saving, money saving convenience and personal attention that you just can’t get from your computer. Here’s how using an agent can help you have the best experience.

They save you time.

You can spend hours searching for the right place at the right time and the right price. Who has that kind of time? An agent does the work and has the insight to match the travel with the appropriate needs. This is especially helpful when the itinerary is complex. Agents have the expertise to efficiently find the perfect arrangements for you.

They save you money.

An agent will help to get you the best value for the money. They also have access to pricing and package deals that are not available to the public. They are connected directly to the resorts, cruise lines and hotels so they can get the first and best for you.

They offer personalized service.

Agents offer a personal touch to your planning by offering help and advice that a website cannot provide. An agent can prepare you a personalized trip based on where you want to go and what you want to do. If you’re not sure about that, an agent can provide you with suggestions based on your interests.

They lessen your stress.

Traveling away from home means many details have to be looked after. To avoid the headaches, agents can handle every aspect of your trip from airline tickets to lodging, ground transportation, car rental, activities, tours, passport and visa requirements and more.

They are experts.

Like other professionals, agents keep up in their field and have ready access to the most current information and trends. At their fingertips is the latest information from airlines, hotels, car rental agencies, visas, and other services .

To sort out the many options, agents help you to make the best possible arrangements. The next time you want to go on a trip, instead of turning on the computer use your phone to call your travel agent.

How to Earn Money While Traveling – Seven Ideas to Keep You on the Road Nov 23
Although it’s quite popular in Europe and Down Under, it’s a dream many Americans don’t pursue: Backpacking the world for months or years at a time. Perhaps it’s because we’ve been taught that you go to school and then get a job so you can buy things. What if we take a break for a while from our fast-paced lives and voracious consumer appetites and live with only what we can carry on our backs?

That’s what my sister and I did. We sold everything, bought airfare, traveler’s checks, and wandered around the world for a year and a half. Of course, we blew through our money faster than we had expected. Wanting to stay on the road for as long as possible, we came up with some ideas on how to make money while traveling. Submit your photographs to stock photography websites. You’re taking photos anyway of everyone and everything you see. Why not upload them to several of the major stock photography websites and earn money? They pay you on consignment for each photo someone purchases for reuse in books, brochures, websites, etc.
Become a seasonal fruit picker. These jobs don’t pay very well, and it’s hard labor but at least you’re outdoors with other travelers getting in shape and earning money. The jobs are usually plentiful, depending on the season.
Become a ranch hand or do odd jobs. Such jobs are usually found just by word of mouth or calling ranches. Sometimes you can find jobs in a local newspaper, but usually you need to ask around about temporary work in whatever locale you happen to be in.
Teach English. Like fruit picking, these jobs are plentiful but do not pay very well. But sometimes they provide living accommodations and it’s a great way to get to know the local culture and make friends.
Become a freelance travel writer. Write articles and submit them to magazines. If accepted, you will usually be paid per word. You can also write articles and submit them for free to article marketing websites. You’re allowed to put a link in the resource box at the end of the article to your personal website (see #6 below.) This helps drive traffic to your website. These articles spread virally through the Internet and are reprinted in blogs, ezines, and other places.
Design a website with affiliate programs. A great way to stay in touch with friends, family, and new friends you make while traveling is to set up a travelogue website where you display photos and stories about your travels. On such a website, you can get a little entrepreneurial. If you know that most of your friends like to shop at a certain online bookstore, for example, then sign up for that bookstore’s affiliate program. It’s fairly easy to do as long as you have a website building program that allows you to cut and paste an html link. After you sign up for an affiliate program, just cut and paste their affiliate link or banner into your website on a “resources” or “links” page. Then ask all your friends and family to click on that link the next time they wish to purchase something from that online store. You will get paid money each time someone clicks on that link and purchases something, and it won’t cost your friends and family anything extra. There are all kinds of products you can sell on your website. Generally, the more expensive the item – such as seminars, CD programs, or services – the more money you will earn.
Become a WWOOFer. It’s an international program that stands for World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms. You choose an organic family farm you’d like to visit, make arrangements with the family, work all day, and, in return, you get free meals and lodging for each day you work. It’s a wonderful way to learn about organic farming and the local culture.

The key is to be open and creative. Making the time to step out of your normal life tends to foster creativity and frees the spirit. You are only limited by your work visa and your imagination. Maybe host a brainstorming happy hour at a youth hostel to get some help from your fellow travelers. Other backpackers are a wealth of information. During your travels, remember the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson: “Though we travel the world over to find the beautiful, we must carry it with us or we find it not.”

Career Management – How to Deal With Failure -The Need to be Resilient Nov 22
Being topical this time, the England football team has to come to terms with failure, and all those pictures of footballers and fans in tears is a powerful picture of how we can get hurt and disappointed. It would be rare for anyone not to feel similar, but what we need to do is to think about how we will react.

There are many ways to deal with disappointment and many times I have spoken with people who didn’t get a promotion and their way of dealing with it was to disengage from the company, to moan and do the minimum. Sometimes this would coincide with a new boss taking over their team, into the job they had hoped to get. What sort of impression does this give to their boss – someone who is not interested and helpful in the job and who makes negative remarks? Their chance of another promotion reduces the longer they maintain this approach.

I appreciate it is hard but they need to turn the situation around. Companies will sometimes ask me to work with someone who is not being effective at work, but the company wants to help them return to how they used to be. With listening and understanding most of the people I have worked with have been able to turn the situation around, and in large companies this can be through a sideways move for a new challenge. However one or two let their feelings fester and they can find that they lose their job, not usually a good position to be in. When I worked with Martin it was a wake up call and we were careful to plan his strategy for the next organization he was to join.

I personally remember years ago that a boss didn’t give me a bonus. I was so disappointed; I always had one and it was usually enough to pay for the family holiday. I spoke to my boss, found out the reasons, and it was hard not to be defensive when I found them unfair. I learnt that I couldn’t expect my boss to have my best interests to heart and made sure I had regular update meetings with her seeking feedback on how she thought I was doing so I could address things straight away. I also got myself a transfer and like a fairy tale was promoted within a year.

What is the best way to hire a car in Baja, Mexico? Nov 15
I am travelling to Mexico in June and would like to hire a car in Tijuana and travel down the Baja peninsula, dropping the car off in Cabo San Lucas (or thereabouts) before catching the ferry across to mainland Mexico. The only quotes I can find online include a drop-off fee (for returning the car to a different depot to the one at which I picked it up) of about $600–basically doubling the cost of car hire. Is there any way around this?

Thai Money And Taking Money To Thailand Nov 11
The Baht is the currency in Thailand and is found in the following denominations:

20 Baht note-Green

50 Baht note-Blue

100 Baht note-Red

500 Baht note -Purple

1000 baht note- Brown

25 Satang coin -small brass coin

50 Satang coin- small brass coin

1 Baht coin -silver and slightly larger than a US cent

5 Baht coin- silver & slightly smaller than the 10 Baht coin

10 Baht coin- silver ring with a brass center

There are also 1,5, and 10 Satang coins you will occasionally run into along with the 25 and 50 Satang coins but normally you’ll only get these as change in a supermarket, chain stores, or sometimes a seven eleven. Most other places deal in whole baht denominations. If you do find yourself with a pocketful of Satang you’ll probably be bringing some home as souvenirs.

All Thai currency has the image of the king on it. It is considered disrespectful to keep Thai money in your back pocket as you would be sitting on the king. Likewise if you should drop a note or coin don’t step on it to stop it as that is very disrespectful.

Never change your currency at home before traveling to Thailand as your home country exchange rates will be bad. There are many places to change currency in Thailand almost every bank has money changers on every corner in the tourist areas as well as their branch locations. Hotel and airport money changers typically give a bad rate as well so stick to the banks for the best rate. Although, it is a good idea to exchange a small amount at the airport when arriving just so you have money to get where you are going.

Due to the fluctuations of the Thai baht over the last several years there has developed a split exchange price one being offshore exchange rates and one being on shore (in Thailand). Be careful using exchange rate calculators such as XE provides as they give the offshore rate and many others do as well. Check the daily rates at Thai banks online like:

Siam Bank

Kasikorn Bank

Bangkok Bank

ATM’s are everywhere in the tourist areas and they give the in country rate as well but beware your banks fees on withdraws and currency conversions from your currency to Baht because most of the time these fees will drop the rate considerably, especially considering most banks will convert currency at the off shore rate. If you live in Great Britain open a Nationwide Flex Account and if you live in America open an ING Orange checking account both of these banks do not charge fees for withdraws or convert your currency at the off shore rate.

Travelers checks are always the best option. Even though you will pay a percentage fee you always get the better exchange rates on them. You also have the added security that if they are lost or stolen they will be replaced within 24 hours. Remember you will have to show your passport whenever changing Travelers checks.

Cash, as they say, is always king but unless you are bringing only large bills then the rate varies per denomination and the rate is only fractionally better than Travelers checks. Taking a large sum of cash anywhere these days is a bad idea and not worth the risk. One hundred dollar bills minted in 1996 are usually not accepted due to the fact that year was heavily counterfeited by North Korea.

Your best bet is to have a mix of travelers checks and a credit/debit card so you’ll be covered in all cases.

Note: using your credit/debit card at ATM’s is usually very safe but don’t use them in stores or shops to buy goods because credit card fraud is rife in Thailand. The only time I’ve used them other than ATM’s is at the hotel but I felt comfortable with the owners/management before I did.

Do You Wish You Could Travel and Make Money? Nov 10
The more home business owners I talk with tell me that besides the money they can make the second reason they started their own home business was the freedom it gives to travel and enjoy life.

That is no surprise to me, we all desire a work life balance and a home business gives you that ability. It’s also why the travel industry is an 8 trillion dollar industry and expected to double in the next 5 years.

OK, so I do listen to the news and I do fill up my car periodically with gas, so I hear about the high cost of gas and how that is affecting the airline industry, travel and resort destinations. But I also heard, at least here in the West, National Parks, lake resorts and hotels in prime resort areas were full over the past two holidays. So what’s my point, people will find a way to get away and enjoy their free time no matter what the economic situation.

However, in these economically challenged times people are searching out more deals than they ever have in the past. Timeshares are out of reach for the average household so the next best option is travel memberships to all those same four and five star communities. And with the drastically reduced costs that people can obtain with these memberships makes taking a vacation affordable even in today’s economy.

The Global Resorts Network membership allows their members to travel anywhere in the world, stay at four and five star resorts for eight days and seven nights for less than most people would pay for a week’s groceries. This lifetime membership also offers values on cruises with all the top cruise liners.

If that product wasn’t enough the business opportunity is so lucrative it has many people wondering just how they can do what they are. As a home business opportunity it is the ability to pay well and give the business owner something they are telling me they are looking for; freedom to travel…Cheap!

So if travel is something you love to do or are looking to do in the future Global Resorts membership and business opportunity is a great value.
